Our 1,400 sqm data center space is located in the Alboinkontor. After the liberalization of the telecommunications market, o.tel.o moved into the AK and set up the first data center space.
Later, o.tel.o was acquired by Arcor, and Arcor eventually outgrew its space.
Speedbone GmbH moved in here in 2002, and since then we have been constantly expanding the space we use.
Due to our expertise, we eventually took over cable management in the building and supply not only our space but also other tenants with high-speed internet connections.
Because of the building’s history, all well-known carriers are on-site, making it a paradise for cross-connects and peerings.
100% Green Energy
We power the entire data center and our office with 100% energy from water, wind, and sun – no certificates.
Out of responsibility to our children and grandchildren, we believe that our actions must be in harmony with nature.
When your IT is hosted at Speedbone, you benefit from this and do not pay a cent more for it.
Redundant Reliability
The Alboinkontor is practically located on a 10kV ring that originally supplied Opel and Schultheiss. Two power lines enter the building, ensuring that, for example, a digger cannot disrupt the power supply for an extended period.
The power goes from the transformers to the batteries of various UPS systems and constantly recharges them. Due to power fluctuations in the Vattenfall grid, all data center spaces are powered by batteries.
If this power supply fails, various diesel generators take over the power production until the normal power supply is restored.
