Emergency power supply

Two-Stage, Redundant Emergency Power Supply

Operational Reliability for Emergencies

Power supply throughout the data center always flows through the batteries. This is important to compensate for the frequent voltage fluctuations. The batteries are charged and discharged simultaneously around the clock.

Normally, the batteries are charged by grid power. If the grid power is interrupted – for any reason – the entire data center will continue to be powered by the batteries.

The power supply to your racks is provided via an A-feed and a B-feed, which are completely independent of each other.

Both feeds have their own UPS systems and diesel generators. If your servers have dual power supplies, you should operate them using the separate feeds.

At the moment the external power supply through the 100kV ring line fails, the always pre-heated diesel generators are immediately started and synchronized with the battery grid. This process usually takes less than a minute.

After that, the system switches to diesel, and the diesels take over charging the batteries.
